Rafael Mattern LL.M.
Rafael Mattern is a specialist labor lawyer, and primarily advises and represents employers, board members and managing directors in all matters relating to labor law. His particular focus is on providing labor law advice to medium-sized companies from a wide range of sectors and on advising banks and savings banks. He supports our clients in, inter alia, drafting contracts, matters relating to collective labor law, and in connection with establishment and termination of employment and service relationships. Rafael Mattern also has special experience and knowledge in the areas of compliance as well as in sports law, in particular at the respective interfaces with labor law.
He speaks fluent English.
Vita
Rafael Mattern studied law at the Universities of Bonn and Münster and, after passing his first state law exam, completed his legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Münster, including a practical stage in Toronto, Canada, while also working as a research assistant. After passing his second state law exam in 2018, he worked as a lawyer in the labor law group of law firm Streitbörger, until his change to Grüter in 2024. In 2023, he completed a part-time Master's degree in labor law at the University of Münster, earning the title of a Master of Laws (LL.M.). Since the beginning of 2023, Rafael Mattern has also been a specialist labor lawyer.
